"Butterfly Freedon" Painted by Sandra Reid

I am Canadian, was born in North Vancouver and a self taught artist. I completed this painting 20 years ago, it  represents a life transition, a time of regrowth, when I had just moved into new housing with my 2 young teenage daughters.

Creating the painting helped me with the prosess of closing one door in my life and opening another to take me to a positive place.

The butterflies represent a form of spiritual renewal, the sea horse identifies with my love of the ocean, and the sun represnts a source of energy for going forward towards happiness. and the painting was created to generate cheer.
